Olympic medallist hands out prizes

ARDINGLY Riding Club had a very special guest speaker at its recent annual meeting when double Olympic Medallist and European three-day-event champion Tina Cook went along.

Her appearanced attracted an excellent turnout and members were rewarded with a fascinating insight into how Tina prepared for the Olympics.

She spoke on how she produced her horse, Miners Frolic, to Olympic standard, and outlined how her own fitness training progressed.

She discussed the transportation for the horses and desribed how they were looked after in Hong Kong, along with the nerves and traumas of eventing under such conditions.

Tina also took along with her the medals she had won for people to see and touch.

Afterwards she awarded the Riding Club's members trophies which had been won throughout the year.
