Panthers look tough

Following thepostponement of the Oxford match last weekend the Eastbourne Eagles aim to get their home Elite League programme under way against the Peterborough Panthers at Arlington Stadium tomorrow (7.30pm start).

The Panthers came from nowhere to grab a playoff place last season which ended in frustration at the Brandon home of eventual champions the Coventry Bees.

A change of promotion would appear to have brought with it major cash injection into the club and with such funding this has allowed the Peterborough management to lure a number of highly-ranked riders to Alwalton.

Former Panther Hans N Andersen, who had spent the previous couple of seasons at the Ipswich Witches, was quick to make the switch, and he was soon joined in the side by another former Peterborough favourite in Ryan Sullivan.

They were quickly joined by a star of the future in Dane Niels-Kristian Iversen, whose efforts provided many of the all-too-few bright spots at Oxford Silver Machine last year. Also in the line-up is former Eagle Ulrich Ostergaard.
