It was familiar penalty heartache for England’s footballers when they crashed out in a shoot-out to Italy in the Euros on Sunday night.

The side were denied a semi-final spot against Germany (probably not a bad thing) as they bowed out of a major competition at the quarter-finals stage once again.

Since losing to Germany in the semis of the 1990 World Cup, England have been knocked out of a further five major competitions on penalties.

So for this week’s Quite Tricky Sports Quiz , can you name all those England players who have missed spot kicks in those six shoot-out defeats?
