Rain fails to mar Parham action

A huge crowd turned out to support Crawley and Horshaam Hunt's point to point meeting at Parham near Storrington on Saturday.

The going was near perfect and although the event got off to a fine start with pony racing and a display of hounds, by the time the horses were in the paddock for the first race, ran began to fall.

It continued relentlessly for the remainder of the afternoon, with underfoot conditions becoming progressively more slippery until they turned to heavy by the end of the meeting. But in true point to point spirit, racing continued and provided the appreciative crowd with some exciting finishes.
