In the away game, goals from John Dempster and Scott Davies gave the Reds a 2-1 win.

But last season, Barnet won both games, winning 4-2 at home and 3-0 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Two notable players to have played for both sides are strikers Izale McLeod and John Akinde. Akinde did not not have a successful time at Crawley, scoring only one goal in 31 appearances. But at Barnet he has scored 54 goals in 84 games.

Barnet were formed in 1988, having formerly been known as New Barnet FC (1885–88) and Woodville FC (1882–85).

They made it to the fourth division of the Football League in 1991 after winning the Conference.

In 2001 they went back back to the Conference for four years before returning to the Football League in 2005. They then spent 2013 to 2015 in the Conference before returining to League Two where they currently play.

The Bees are currently managed by former Portsmouth and and West Ham player Martin Allen, in his fourth spell as Barnet boss, but they have had other notable names at the helm including Alan Mullery, who was appointed as a 'football consultant' at Crawley Town in 2005.

Edgar Davids had a short stint as boss in 2012.
