Club officials are advising players and coaches that some activity can begin again on July 1 – music to the ears of all who have been out of action since March.

Vice-chairman and commercial manager Richard Ordidge said: “I am pleased to advise that following advice received from the Government and the RFU we will be in a position to offer training facilities to all teams from 1 July.

“There are a number of responsibilities incumbent on us all to ensure training is carried out within required guidelines, including social distancing, hand washing etc with exercise allowed in groups of up to six. No face-to-face close contact is allowed and equipment sharing must be kept to a minimum.

“Further communication will be sent out to all head coaches and team managers in the next few weeks and they will, in turn, communicate to all players and parents when training will take place for their team and what measures they need to take to remain safe and compliant while at the club.

“This does come with a warning... if the government’s advice changes we may have to change our plans. It does however feel like restrictions are more likely to be eased than tightened in the coming weeks and we will adapt our plans and advice accordingly.”
