Wanderers win

Mark Winton, Andy Cox and Peter Barling opened the Lewes Wanderers 2006 win account on Sunday with the team prize in the Croydon & District C.A. Sporting 21-mile time trial in a combined time of 2hr 59min 54sec.

Winton (55.46) was the fastest Wanderer and finished sixth overall out of a total field of 56. He enjoyed a good ride over the two laps of the challenging Blenchingly course in Surrey despite the three little ring climbs and the tough wind conditions.

Cox was the Wanderers's second counter in the team win with 1:01.03 while Barling (1:03.05) reported that it was the hardest course he had ridden. Fastest rider on the day was Paul Mill of Team Edwards/Elite Cycling in 51.45.
