Will Palmer aiming high in Formula 4 Championship

F4 Winter Championship race winner Will Palmer has confirmed he will compete in the 2014 BRDC F4 Championship with HHC Motorsport.

The 16-year-old from Southwater is currently studying for his A Levels at Cranleigh School in Surrey, and is the son of MSV chief executive and ex-F1 racer Jonathan Palmer and brother to GP2 frontrunner Jolyon.

Palmer finished third in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2013 with the Harrogate-based team, claiming his first win at Rockingham in October and nine additional podium finishes.

Remaining with HHC, he made his single seater debut in the F4 Winter Championship in November, impressing with a commanding win from pole position at Brands Hatch in just his fifth race in the category, as well as a further podium at Snetterton on his way to fifth overall in the championship standings.

Will has raced with the Yorkshire squad since 2012 and enters F4 with title ambitions ahead of his first full season of single seater competition.

“I’m really excited to be moving into Formula 4 next year with HHC Motorsport,” he said. “Formula 4 was the obvious choice for me, especially after how competitive the series proved to be in its first year. I’m also really pleased to be continuing with HHC for what will be my third year driving for them.
