Bosham couple ready to reopen their Go Ape forest empire

You can book now with the multi award-winning high-wire adventure company for activities in England from July 4, Wales from July 17 and Scotland from July 25.

There are 34 Go Ape locations across the UK from Battersea Park in London to Crathes Castle near Aberdeen. Four of these courses are an hour or less from Chichester – Alice Holt, near Farnham; Moors Valley Country Park, near Ringwood; and Tilgate Park, near Crawley. The closest is the fourth, Go Ape Itchen Valley, Southampton.

Go Ape closed all 34 locations as soon as the Government locked Britain down on March 20. Rebecca said: “We have come through a long period of Covid-19 closure with the strong support of all our landowner partners, our loyal customers and suppliers and, of course, most importantly, from our own tribe of passion-led purpose-driven colleagues.”

They are now ready to welcome its one million customers a year back to their woodland hangouts.

“Our construction teams have done a banging job to make everything perfect across the country. We’ve invested over a million pounds in new adventures this season.

“Go Ape’s natural habitat – high up in the tree canopy – means that customers breathe in the freshest air possible, freshly pumped out by the trees themselves. We’re lucky that we get to work in a beautiful, rejuvenating and uplifting natural environment which the government has confirmed presents the lowest transmission risk possible.

“We have put smart new measures in place to ensure everyone stays healthy, from sneeze-screens at the cabin, to really clever, environmentally-sound, off-grid hand washing stations.

“Go Ape’s high ropes courses naturally keeps participants socially distanced. Only 1 person is allowed on any ladder, crossing or zip wire at a time. Up to 3 people from the same household can be on a platform, but not 2 people from different households, customers will be asked to respect the social distancing rules.

“Instructional briefings will be restricted to limit numbers and karabiners, Zip trolleys and Forest Segways will be cleaned frequently.

“Go Ape has consulted its customers on its reopening plans. 92% of respondees felt ready to book again given the measures now in place. Results from the 16 recently re-opened Go Ape courses in the USA show strong demand from customers keen to return for a naturally thrilling escape from lockdown. Forests and parks across the UK have been inundated with people enjoying the open space.”

Former Army Captain Tristram, who served as a tank commander with the Royal Dragoon Guards, and Go Ape’s founder and Chief Gorilla, added: “Many people have had a really tough time through the pandemic. This is our time to lead by example and help them.”
