Performing Elgar masterpiece

The Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra's 34th annual choral concert will be Elgar's Dream of Gerontius.

The orchestra will be joined by the ESO chorus as well as the Eastbournian Society Chorus and the Renaissance Singers for a performance of one of choral music’s greatest works. The piece is widely regarded as Elgar’s finest choral work, and some consider it his masterpiece, and was composed in 1900.

ESO’s conductor Graham Jones and leader Lisa Wigmore will welcome soloists Susan Legg (alto), Andrew Mackenzie-Wicks (tenor) and Jozik Kotz (bass) on Sunday April 24 at 7.30pm in St Saviour’s Church, BN21 4UT.
