POWER Fitness Events was built on one person’s desire to share the power fitness has on your physical and mental strength, health and wellbeing.

The Sussex Snowdrop Trust is located close to the Home of POWER in Chichester, and is a charity close to the hearts of many POWER 'riders'.

Anyone, anywhere is the world is invited to connect over Zoom, and simply MOVE in HOPE, at 10am on Friday, January 1 2021, for a special 60-minute POWER Hour for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust ‘ride’.

The virtual event is organised by Chichester-based Elaine Hart who founded POWER Fitness Events, a new business launched soon after lockdown that has gone on to support many people, young and old, during tough times, through the power of movement, togetherness, positivity and kindness.

‘Riders’ will consist of cyclists (on indoor spinning bikes and outdoor pedal bikes), runners, joggers, rowers, walkers, dog walkers, dancers, movers and shakers of any age.

Elaine said: “I am so excited to see so many faces on the screen in front of me, cycling, running, rowing, walking, dancing – all smiling and, all together. I encourage everyone to bring a banana to the ride, with or without a motivational or inspirational word, and to embrace the theme of the ride – hope – by dressing in every colour of the rainbow. I can't think of a better way to start a brand-new year.

“Eight months ago, I thought my business, POWER Fitness Events, was dead in the water before it had even had the chance to get off the ground. Through the power of Zoom, I have been able to bring my vision and my passion to 100s of people.

“The 'ride' on New Year's Day will be my 182nd POWER Online ‘ride’ and whilst the relaxing of lockdown rules means I am now able to re-open POWER in the Garage in Chichester, where it all began, I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to create POWER Online.

“POWER-To-You – spinning bikes, wireless headphones and bananas – out on location, is still on hold during the current climate, but the future of POWER and the benefits it can bring, drives me forward each and every day.”

Di Levantine, co-founder and chairman of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, said: “We are so excited about January 1 and we are grateful to Elaine for setting this up.

“The symbol of the Snowdrop was chosen for the charity some 28 years ago when it was founded. It is a symbol of hope and we as a trust continue to give support, nursing care and hope to our Snowdrop families.

“The families have to overcome so many challenges when looking after their sick child. They are very brave. The connections in the community who assist in fundraising is vital to us. To start 2021 with this positive Ride of Hope is fantastic.”
