Artists Lynda Leese and Deirdre Carolin are launching a new community arts project in Rustington.
Art at the Garden Room comes with the support of the Rustington Community Partnership and comprises a series of crafts workshops in Rustington during August.
Lynda said: “They will be held in the newly refurbished Garden Room (formerly the Museum Café) behind the Museum in The Street.
“This will be a not-for-profit project, with the artists not paying themselves.
“The aim is to promote arts and crafts in the village, establish regular art events and bring people together to be creative and to have fun!”
The workshops are suitable for all ages and abilities over five years of age.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.”
The four workshops will be held on Wednesday mornings from 9.30am-12pm on:
August 3 – Felt a Pebble/Soap & Bangle.
August 10 – Canvas Work & Peg Loom Weaving. Make a picture using canvas, fabric and threads.
August 17 – Printing. Make your own printing block and print on fabrics and papers.
August 24 – Make your own felt and use to make a picture, book cover or purse.
Adults £10, child (over five years). £5 (family first child £5; each other child £2.50).
All materials and refreshments included in price.
