Robot Wars favourites head to Burgess Hill’s Triangle

Robots Live! is at The Triangle Leisure Centre, Burgess Hill, on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, as part of its UK Tour.

Robots from all over Europe are set to attend the event, including TV favourites like Bigger Brother, Behemoth, King B and the Robot Wars World Champions Storm 2.

These heavyweight machines weigh in at 100kg.

The event also offers the chance to see some of the teams that will feature in the new series of Robot Wars, airing this spring and summer on BBC2.

Patrolling the arena will be Goliath, the house robot, which weighs in at 1,000kg and is capable of pulling a truck with its massive track drive. Its equipped with a powerful crushing claw and a deadly spinning disk.

The audience will also get the chance to view the Feather Weight fighters. These lighter (13kg) robots contain weapons and a single Feather Weight match can involve up to 18 fighters.

Keeping guard of the arena during the featherweight fights will be the house robot Battleaxe, which has steel jaws and a pneumatic axe.

During the show humanoid robots will interact with the audience and there will be a rare chance to see a Dalek. There will also be an opportunity to see robotic ‘boxers’ fight it out.

The show starts at 6pm on Saturday. Sunday shows start at 12pm and 3.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 for children, £14 for adults and £45 for a family. VIP tickets are available online.
