A spokesman said: “Comedy fans are well catered for with performances from some of the most recognisable faces on the comedy scene. Romesh & Friends (Sept 5 and 11) may have already sold out but those looking for a laugh can still grab tickets for one of two Off The Kerb Comedy Nights featuring Suzi Ruffell, Jake Lambert and Joel Dommett (Aug 21) and Angela Barnes, Nathan Caton and Josh Widdicombe (Aug 28).

“No babysitter, no problem! You can still enjoy an afternoon of comedy and bring along your little one too with Bring Your Own Baby Outdoor Comedy Shows (Aug 21 and Sept 9). Offering a line up of three laugh-out-loud comedians at each gig, parents can experience a grown up night out in the middle of the day and keep their baby (aged up to 15 months due to adult show content) with them throughout. Don’t worry, no one will mind noise, nappy changes or feeding – just come along and enjoy!

“Audiences can also look forward to a performance of Romeo & Juliet as never seen before. The usually tragic tale will be brought to life with music, mayhem and more costume changes than you can shake a spear at (Aug 19).

“The Three Musketeers are ‘All for one and one for all!’ in the classic story full of plot twists and epic fights (Aug 26) and Mike Leigh’s classic Abigail’s Party will be bringing back the 1970s in an urban satire loved by many (Aug 29).

“Family fun comes in the form of Ratty, Mole and Mr Toad as Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows is brought to life in an interactive performance that shimmers with big characters and big hearts and there’s a Teddy Bears’ Picnic featuring Paddington’s First Concert (Sept 6), a story told with music, suitable for children aged five and upwards designed to be both fun and educational.

“In order to ensure audiences can enjoy these fantastic performances safely we want to assure customers that The Hawth team will be adhering to all government guidelines throughout your visit. One-way systems will be in place for entry and exit and the amphitheatre capacity has been reduced in order to maintain social distancing. Those attending will not be required to bring a ticket on the day; instead there will be a customer list with details of those who have booked. Please note: facemasks should be worn if customers enter the building to access the bar, pizzeria or toilets.
