Man seriously assaulted in Horley

Detectives are on the hunt for two suspects following a serious assault on a man in Horley yesterday.

Officers from East Surrey Police were called to Church Road at around 12.45pm on Saturday, September 4, following a report an 18-year-old man had been assaulted close to the cemetery.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment to head and arm injuries, police said, while adding that his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The area was quickly sealed off and a cordon was put in place for most of the day. This has now been removed.

The investigation by detectives from East Surrey CID is still in the early stages but police believed it is an isolated incident.

Several units are in the local area assisting with the investigation and the search for the two suspects.

Police have described the first suspect as a white man, of large build with blonde hair and wearing a tight black top and light blue jeans.

The second suspect is described as a white man, with blonde hair and was wearing a blue hoody and light blue jeans. Both men are described as around 20-years-old.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation or who knows the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is urged to contact Surrey Police as a matter of urgency, quoting reference 45160084141.
