Two teenagers who were arrested for ‘acting suspiciously with weapons’ in the town centre last week have been released on conditional bail.

Police responded to reports of a group seen ‘acting suspiciously with weapons’ in Langney Road, Eastbourne, at about 4.15pm on Thursday, May 9.

Two boys, aged 17 and 14, were arrested on suspicion of affray, Sussex Police confirmed. Both have now been released on conditional bail.

Following the incident, a spokesperson for the police force said: “There was an increased police presence in the area while the matter was responded to.

“Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to report it to Sussex Police or call 101, quoting serial 908 of 09/05.”
