LETTER: Amazing treatment at hospital

Having spent twelve days in hospital, I felt I had to write to you to share my experiences.

I have been a patient at the Stanmore – Duke of Gloucester Ward – where I had my knee repaired. The treatment I received was amazing, not only for me but for everyone.

I have never received such care and compassion – it was spot on – just like it used to be. Everything was clean and everyone was helpful, from the top doctors to the more junior members of staff, including the meal providers. A special thanks goes to Anna, the Sister in Charge, who was a very special person and extremely kind.

There is a lot of moaning about the NHS.

Being of Italian descent, many in this country do not realise how lucky we are to have such a health service.

We should all appreciate it more and I would like to encourage us all to do just that. The resources are phenomenal.

I have lived in this country for 54 years and I believe the present strains on the NHS is due to the rising population.

Please remember what we have and appreciate the good things about the NHS.

Thank you.
