Dog trapped in South Downs quarry

Firefighters were alerted when a pet dog became trapped at the bottom of a South Downs quarry.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene in Chantry Lane, Storringotn, soon after 9.30am this morning (November 4).

A technical rescue unit team spent about an hour freeing the trapped canine which was reunited with its relieved owner before being taken to a local vet.
