Letter: Gatwick memories

I am carrying out some research into the old viewing facilities at Gatwick airport.

The days of excellent spectator facilities at Gatwick (and Heathrow for that matter) are long gone, especially since security went mad after 9/11, so now there are no official places to watch the aircraft, however I understand that there are some great views to be had from the airport-facing rooms in the BLOC Hotel above the South Terminal.

Can any reader recall how much was charged to get entry to the viewing area back in the 1960s/70s? I would also like to see any colour images of aircraft taken from these fingers.
