Player ratings as Crawley Town left it late to grab a deserved point against Walsall.
Jack Butler rates the Reds’ players on show as Tom Nichols’ late penalty saw Crawley draw 1-1 against Walsall at the People’s Pension Stadium. Do you agree?
Played like an animal, battled for everything and looked fired up. Went off injured 20 minutes - which is a big concern considering how long he has been sidelined this year. A massive shame as was starting to become a really promising addition.
10. Tom Nichols - 8
Tom Nichols must get through shin-pads at a heck of rate. Kicked, pushed, shirt pulled - then, gets up and runs at the defence. Some lovely touches around the penalty area, worked tirelessly, and then smashed home the penalty late on. A class act.
11. Ashley Nadesan - 7
Could only guide a volley from inside the six yard box just wide as he stretched to get on the end of a wicked delivery from Nichols. Then, his header from about 10 yards was tipped over the bar after Francomb whipped in a ferocious cross. A game of missed chances for the pacey striker.
12. James Tilley - 6.5
Subbed on after Hesketh’s injury...and showed great feet down the left to trick past his man on numerous occasions. Constantly want a bit better end product, because he has the quality to always make a difference.
