Crawley Boxing Club heavyweight Ricardo Slue smashed his way to the Elite Surrey title in Southampton on Saturday.
Former National Champion Slue crushed Surbiton’s Jake Cresswell in devastating style.
Slue won the Elite national crown in 2015, before taking a year out of the sport, and now is back in the ring, in shape, and best of all in knockout condition.
Cresswell, despite enjoying a big height and reach advantage over the Crawley boxer.
Slue sent Cresswell crashing to the canvas right on the bell to end the opening three minutes.
There was almost an air of resignation on Cresswell’s face as he came out for the second round, and Slue simply carried off from where he’d left off, accurately scoring punches to easily win the round.
The ending came at just over a minute into the third round when he sent Cresswell crashing to the canvas, only to show remarkable courage and beat the count.
The end though was no more than 30 seconds away as another heavy-handed assault saw Cresswell slide to the canvas again just as the referee jumped in to call a halt on proceedings.
